It seems the stunning Volvo Concept Estate – which was revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show – will form the basis for a new Volvo V90.

The final in a trio of new concepts from Volvo showcasing their new platform and new direction debuted at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month as the Volvo Concept Estate. And it seems it might be heading for production.
We’re not entirely sure Auo Bild are right, but it does seem clear that after the overwhelmingly positive reaction Volvo had to the Concept estate that it will form the basis for design for future models.
That will surely mean a new range-topping ’90’ series of cars to sit alongside the 2015 XC90 – which we’ll see later this year – with not just a V90 but probably an S90 saloon and a C90 Coupe too.
All would be based on Volvo’s new architecture, feature Volvo’s new range of 2.0 litre Drive-E engines and come with the tablet-focused interior we saw on the Concept Estate.
And although it’s unlikely Volvo will be taking on the Germans in the power stakes as their new 2.0 litre range of engines can only deliver a maximum of around 300bhp, the new design direction featured in the Concept Estate, Concept Coupe and Concept XC Coupe does look like it will take Volvo in to a new era of success.
