Volkswagen has created a real life version of the GTI Roadster from Sony’s Gran Turismo game and is taking it to the Worthersee Show to pay homage to the VW GTI.

Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo brought to life

We’ve already had Worthersee Concepts from Skoda, Audi and SEAT, but now we get the Worthersee Concept from the Mother Ship – the Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo Concept.
VW are calling the GTI Roadster a supercar with aggressive styling, and the GTI Roadster certainly looks dramatic (although that drama may well be a little less extreme when it arrives in the metal) and, just like the Skoda CitiJet and SEAT Ibiza Cupster Concepts, manages without a roof.
Under the bonnet of the show car will be a twin-turbo VR6 3.0 litre with the wick turned up to 496 bhp driving all four wheels through VW’s 4MOTION and a 7-speed DSG gearbox, big vented discs behind 20″ alloys and a whopping great spoiler at the back.
There may be some design cues on the GTI Roadster that point the way to future VW design, but it seems highly unlikely it points towards a new VW supercar.
The GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo is almost certainly just a bit of fun for Worthersee.
