Jaguar to reveal first Jaguar Special Operations car at Goodwood Festival of Speed

With the Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations division now official, Jaguar are revealing the first car from the new division at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

It’s not just the new high performance Range Rover Sport from JLR’s Special Operations division that’s arriving at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next week, we’re also getting a new Special Operations car from Jaguar.

It’s exactly a year since the Jaguar Project 7 F-Type (pictured above) was revealed at Goodwood as a precursor to the sort of cars JLR has in mind for its new Special Operation division, and now we’re getting the first fruits of the new division for Jaguar at Goodwood this year, although Jaguar aren’t yet letting on what it will be.

Could it be a short-run, high-price production version of the Project 7 car, or will it be something else? Whatever it is, we’ll find out next week.

Apart from the new SO car, Jaguar will be out in force at Goodwood with both the new F-Type R Coupe and the uber estate XFR-S Sportbrake taking to the hillclimb to entertain attendees.

Apart from the new powerhouses and the new SO car, Jaguar will also have the original 1954 D Type ans well as a later 1956 Long Nose (driven by Bruno Senna), the Group 44 E-Type, Group A XJS TWR and the Le Mans winning XJR-9 LM, with the racing D-type, XJS TWR and XJR-9 all taking on the hillclimb too.

Exciting though all that is, the big news will be the new Jaguar Special Operations car.
