2015 Hyundai i20 INTERIOR revealed

The second generation, 2015 Hyundai i20 has finally revealed its interior ahead of a debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.

Hyundai has already had two bites at the cherry with the reveal of the new 2015 i20 – first with some design sketches and then an almost complete reveal ten days later – but now they’ve finally finished the reveal (and had three lots of column inches for the price of one) with more details and the first interior photos.

Hyundai say the new i20’s interior is colourful and comfortable, and they look to have worked on pushing the i20’s interior closer to that of German rivals.

Plenty of premium soft-touch materials make the interior a nicer place to be – and to touch – and colour blocks are used to help create an air of spaciousness. It seems early viewers agree, with the new i20’s interior being marked higher than core competitors in comparison tests in Germany and the UK.

The interior colour choice of Elegant Beige, Grey Blue, Cappuccino and Comfort Grey have been developed to compliment the new range of exterior colours, and Hyundai has listened to their designers with the descriptions of what each colour choice evokes:

Each interior colour took inspiration from current interior design and lifestyle trends, giving each its own, distinctive character.

The beige interior draws inspiration from the elegant Mediterranean way of living, while the vibrant blue and grey interior designs are influenced by the flagship stores of contemporary lifestyle brands. The rich brown shade echoes the lounge feeling of modern interior design.

There’s a coloured inlay that stretches across the dashboard around to the door handles to accentuate the greater space in the new i20, and incorporates the air vents, and key technologies like HVAC and Audio have been grouped together for ease of use.

Away from the interior, Hyundai has revealed that the new i20 will get a choice of engines; the 1.25 litre petrol with 75PS or 84PS, the 1.4 litre petrol with 100PS, the 1.1 litre diesel with 7%PS or the 1.4 litre diesel with 90PS with tweaks to economy and emissions and extra torque mated to either a five or six-speed manual gearbox.

The new Hyundai i20 will debut at the Paris Motor Show in October and start arriving in Hyundai’s dealers in early 2015 in a choice of Access, Comfort, Panorama and LED trim. Prices for the new i20 have yet to be revealed.
