The facelifted Hyundai i30 – revealed in December – has now gone in to production in the Czech Republic ahead of going on sale in the UK in March.

The Hyundai i30 was the Hyundai that properly shook the received wisdom that the only options in the C-segment were the Ford Focus and VW Golf.
All the new i30s coming off the production line in Nosovice get new bumpers, new hexagonal grill and new alloys as well as an enhanced range of engines and gearboxes, and a choice of three-door, five-door and Estate bodystyles.
But the big news is really the arrival of a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine option for the i30.
Probably signalling the end of the Veloster turbo, the new i30 turbo – only available as a five-door in the UK – gets 183bhp, a set of 18″ alloys, LED running lights, xenon headlights and splashes of red to make it look sporty.
The new Hyundai i30 goes on sale at Hyundai’s UK dealers in March, at prices likely to be a touch up on the current i30.
