Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Shooting Brake – now with 376bhp
Mercedes has implemented the recent power boost for the A45 AMG in its other compact models – the CLA45 AMG, CLA 45 Shoting Brake and the GLA 45.
As part of the facelift for the Mercedes A-Class, the range-topping A45 AMG model got more than its fair share of improvements – including a boost to 376bhp – and Mercedes-AMG are now rolling those improvements out across the rest of their compact range, with the CLA 45, CLA 45 Shooting Brake and GLA 45 all getting the updates. Not only does the upgrade from 360 PS to 381 PS for the 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbo arrive to give both the CLA and GLA more oomph, meaning acceleration to 62mph in 4.2 seconds for the CLA 45, 4.3 seconds for the Shooting Brake and 4.4 seconds for the GLA 45, there are also improvements to gearbox and suspension to compliment the power boost.
Just as it does in the A45, the AMG Speedshift DCT 7-Speed gearbox comes in for some tweaks, with shorter ratios in higher gears – and quicker gear changes – offering more dynamic performance.
Also new is the AMG Dynamic Select transmission modes, with a choice of Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual, and the option of AMG Dynamic Plus – which sharpens dynamics further and adds a locking front diff – and AMG Ride Control which adds a ‘Race’ mode to the Dynamic Select menu and adds two-stage adaptive dampers.
The revised CLA 45 and GLA 45 are now available to order.
