Lexus RC 200t is the 4th Lexus to get the new 2.0 litre turbo engine

The Lexus RC 200t is the latest edition to the Lexus range, bringing the 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine to the BMW 4-Series rival. Arrives in the UK late 2015.

Lexus are starting to roll out the 2.0 lire turbo petrol engine across their range, with the new NX 200t already out of the gates, the IS 200t and RX 200t announced and now this – the new Lexus RC 200t.

The new 2.0 litre turbo engine will bring the RC Coupe in to the reach of far more UK car buyers – with the only RC model currently available being the V8 RC-F – and should see it offering a possible alternative to the lower-powered BMW 4-Series.

In the RC, the 2.0 litre turbo engine delivers 241bhp – enough for 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds and 143mph – with drive through the back wheels by means of Lexus’ 8-speed auto box.

Lexus will also be offering and F SPORT version of the 200t, complete with cosmetic titivations and a Torsen limited slip diff for sharper handling.

Those cosmetic titivations include a wider mesh spindle grill and 19″ F Sport alloys (non-F Sport models have thee option of 17″, 18″ and 19″ alloys), perforated leather steering wheel and gear lever, aluminium pedals and scuff plates and the driver’s meter with moving centre ring from the LFA.

The new Lexus RC 200t will arrive across Europe – including the UK – at the end of 2015, by which time Lexus may have come up with a price.
