The new Jaguar XF has the best residual values and lowest insurance groups of any comparable premium executive car according to Jaguar.
The new Jaguar XF arrived in public view back in March when it flew in to London on a high wire across the Thames, and now Jaguar are expecting it to fly out of showrooms thanks to best in class residuals and low insurance costs.According to Jaguar, the entry-level XF – the £32,300 XF 2.0d 163ps Prestige – will retain an impressive 52 per cent of its value over three years, significantly better than the Mercedes E220 BlueTEC SE Auto and Audi A6 2.0 TDI Ultra S-Line Auto (45 per cent) or the BMW 520d SE (44 per cent).
On the cost of insurance, the Jaguar XF looks to be the best bet too, with the entry-level XF in group 25E compared to the Mercedes in 33, Audi A6 in 32 and BMW in group 30.
Adding to the reduced cost of ownership from low depreciation and low insurance costs, Jaguar reckon their service plans ar a no-brainer, with the Standard Mileage (up to 50k) servicing costing £525 and the Higher Mileage (75k) just £675 (although those prices are only for the 2.0 litre Ingenium engines – the 3.0 litre diesel will cost £699 and the 3.0 litre petrol supercharged £899).
JLR MD, Jeremy Hicks, said:
The XF has been an enormous success for Jaguar, so replacing it was always going to be a difficult task. The challenge in creating the all-new model was to ensure that it improved on the out-going car in every way, not least in terms of cost of ownership. By ensuring that the new XF offers class-leading residual values, insurance costs, economy and emission levels, we’ve done exactly that.
It all adds up to a car that’s almost worthy of being the default choice in its segment.
