First new Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf on UK roads
The new Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf saloon has been spotted driving in the UK as the first Aston Martin super-saloon in a generation hits the road.
The Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf started out as a super-luxury proper saloon car from Aston Martin to tempt Middle East buyers in to a new Lagonda, but AML soon realised the market was wider than just the Middle East and turned the Taraf in to a global model.A global model it may be, but the Taraf is not part of AML’s standard range, but a special ‘Built to Order’ edition with no published list price, although it does seem the price starts at around £700k.
Clearly there’s at least one buyer for the Taraf in the UK (unless it’s AML’s own car), as a black Taraf has been filmed out on London’s streets managing to look elegant and appealing in the midst of London’s chaotic traffic.
Fitted with Aston Martin’s well-used 6.0 litre V12, the Taraf has power aplenty – especially for London’s streets – and masses of luxury touches to make it a cocooned and pleasant place to be, even amongst the buses and taxis.
Aston Martin said they were only going to build 200 Tarafs (of which 100 were earmarked for the Middle East) so if you want to join this UK owner you’ll need to get a shake on as only a handful are likely to end up with UK buyers.

The first in a generation? How long is that? I saw a 4 door saloon Aston/Lagonda based on the current Aston only three or four years ago. Does that not count?

Guessing you’re referring to the Aston Martin Rapide – a 4 door DB9- but the last Lagonda car was the 1970s William Towns designed car
