Hyundai sales success with Rockar spawns new Westfield outlet
Hyundai’s Rockar sales channel – a way of buying a new Hyundai whilst you’re out shopping – has proved so successful there’s to be a new outlet at Westfield in Stratford.
It’s only a year since Hyundai launched their Rockar shop at Bluewater so shoppers could buy a Hyundai whilst they were out shopping, and it’s proved to be a real success.By May of this year, Hyundai were reporting that they’d had 100,000 visitors to the Rockar store in Bluewater and were hailing the experiment a real success. In fact, so successful has Bluewater been for Rockar that they’re now opening another store, this time in Westfield in Stratford (East London for those whose life bypasses London geography).
Clearly, Hyundai are hoping Westfield will prove as fruitful as Bluewater has been, and it’s hard to argue that Bluewater has been anything other than a roaring success when you look at the figures.
Since its launch, the Rockar store in Bluewater has seen 163,000 visitors (the numbers seem to have settled a little after the opening curiosity), 150,000 visitors to the Rockar website, 94 per cent of buyers new to Hyundai, an average age of 39 years old and with 72 per cent lured out of buying a new car and 54 per cent of buyers female.
Hyundai still aren’t revealing how many cars they’ve actually sold through Rockar, but they do say the Rockar store in Bluewater is in the top 10 dealers in the country, and has attracted more test drives than any other outlet.
Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai’s UK boss, said:
We have been really impressed by the positive public reaction to our first Rockar Hyundai store, and we’re confident that the new site at Westfield London will continue to attract more people to our brand.
The Rockar store in Westfield will have 18 ‘Angels’ to help you browse, 11 tablets to spec and buy, 20 cars available to test drive and even a tablet outside the store so you can play even when the shop’s shut.
