2016 Volvo V90 Estate (pictured) to be revealed this month
The 2016 Volvo V90 Estate – the estate version of the new S90 – will be revealed in Sweden on 18 February ahead of Geneva Motor Show debut.
As we revealed at the the end of last year, the new Volvo V90 – the estate version of the recently revealed new S90 – will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in just a few weeks. But ahead of that public debut, the Volvo S90 will be getting revealed in Sweden on 18 February as a prelude to the Geneva debut, according to Sweden’s Teknikens Varld – the same people who brought us the first photo of the undisguised new V90 (above).
Whilst the V90 won’t hold as many surprises as the S90, it’s a hugely important car from Volvo and a car which is likely to find even more buyers than its S90 sibling.
Apart from the changes to the back end – which will address our only (minor) moan about the looks of the S90 – the V90 is going to offer much the same as the S90 plus the more practical benefits of an estate
That means a stunning interior that moves Volvo on from even the hugely impressive interior of the XC90, a range of engines at launch including the D4, D5, T6 and T6 AWD, the promise of even more frugal engines to come and, we hope, a range-topping plug-in hybrid T8 Twin Engine version too.
In addition to the range of engine options, we’ll also see at least Momentum and Inscription trim levels in the UK, as well as the appealing R-Design trim and, in time, a V90 Cross Country.
All will be revealed on 18 February.
