Kia Optima Sportswagon is Kia’s first Optima Estate
The Kia Optima Sportswagon is revealed as Kia’s first Optima estate, offering plenty of carrying capacity and prices from £22,295. On sale 15 September.
It’s a bit of a Kia Optima day today, with first the arrival of the Kia Optima PHEV in the UK and now the arrival of the Kia Optima Sportswagon (that’s estate car to you and me).Kia are clearly aiming at fleet and business users with the Optima Estate, a car that offers plenty of carrying capacity (an impressive 1686 litres with the seats down) but a footprint just the same as the Optima saloon, although the roof rails make it a tad taller.
Just like the Optima saloon, well, until the PHEV, there’s no choice of engines with the 1.7 litre diesel the only option, but it does come with a selection of trim levels – 2, 3 and GT-Line S – which offer the same levels of equipment as their saloon counterpart.
That means 7″ Sat Nav, reversing camera, Climate, Cruise, heated folding mirrors, cornering lights, LED running lights, ESC, Hill Start, Roof Rails and twing connection prep all standard on the level 2 trim.
Level 3 adds 8″ screen, electric driver’s seat, 18″ alloys, LED front fogs, bits of fake leather on the seats, auto electric windows, , premium vision instrument cluster, Harmon Kardon sound and flappy paddles if you opt for the DCT.
The GT-Line S adds different 18″ alloys, wireless phone charging, 360 around view, Smart Park, Blind Spot with Cross Traffic, Adaptive Cruise, High Beam assist, Panoramic roof, LED headlights, leather, ventilated and heated seats and ambient lighting.
The Optima Sportswagon goes on sale at Kia’s UK dealers on 15 September, with prices starting at £22,295 for the ‘2’ trim, £24,495 for the ‘3’, £25,895 for the ‘3’ with DCT and £30,595 for the GT-Line S with DCT.
