Ford GT Supercar gets its UK dynamic debut on the Goodwood Hillclimb
The Ford GT Supercar – Ford’s new ‘Blue Collar’ supercar – will get its UK dynamic debut as it tackles the Hillcimb at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
It’s been a while since we got our first look at the new Ford GT supercar, and it’s only this year we found out that it gets 647bhp and, claim Ford, is quicker than both the McLaren 675LT and Ferrari 458 Speciale. That’s thanks to that 647bhp from the GT’s 3.5 litre V6 – which also has 550lb/ft of torque – although whether its 1385kg weight negates some of that power we’re still not sure. But Ford say it’s quicker, so we’re sure they must know.
But any doubts about the GT’s performance should be put to bed when the GT gets its UK dynamic debut later this month at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Ford are planning to stick the GT up the infamous Goodwood Hillcimb in the hands of Ford Chip Ganassi drivers Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknell when we’ll see just what the halo Ford can muster.
But it’s not just the GT in action at Goodwood, but the Mustang GT4 will be in action too.
It will be in the hands of Ford driver Billy Johnson for the Hillcimb, and Vaughn Gittin Jr will be out drifting the Mustang RTR in Goodwood’s first ever Hillclimb Drift outing.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks off with the Moving Motor Show on June 29, continuing through to Sunday.
