Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge POLICE car – Perfect Posh Policing

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge has been turned in to a very posh police car as Rolls-Royce supports Sussex Police at their open day.

There have been lots of one-off Police cars floating round the UK’s Police forces at various times – like the Ford RS 200 used by Essex Police 30 years ago – but Sussex Police have perhaps now grabbed the gong for the poshest plod-mobile.

Rolls Royce – based at Goodwood in Sussex – decided to throw in their best efforts for a Sussex Police open day in Chichester, and created a very special police car for the occasion.

They took the Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge – the Ghost with added dynamics – complete with an extra 40bhp from its 6.6 litre V12, bringing it to 603bhp, and gave it a Sussex Police makeover.

That meant taking an Andalusian White Ghost, which had a black and tan leather interior and Black Badge Technical Fibre fascia, and attaching Sussex Police decals and a set of blues and towos to make what is probably the poshest Police car in the UK.

We were particularly pleased to see a number of our employees visiting the event with their families, and sharing their pride in the motor car they built.

Sadly for Sussex’s Chief Constable, Giles York, Rolls Royce took their Ghost back and took off the lights and ‘Police’ stickers, no doubt crushing his hopes he was in line for a new company car.
