Toyota C-HR Hy-Power Concept and NEW Land Cruiser heading for Frankfurt
Toyota are heading to the Frankfurt Motor Show with a C-HR Hy-Power Concept and a new Toyota Land Cruiser. But details are a bit thin on the ground.
It’s only just over a year since the compact Toyota C-HR arrived, but Toyota are heading for the Frankfurt Motor Show with a new C-HR Concept – the C-HR Hy-Power Concept. This isn’t going to be a Concept for a new C-HR – a car we found extremely appealing – but, as Toyota say, will “hint at a future expansion of Toyota’s hybrid powertrain line-up within its core models“.
We assume Toyota has chosen the C-HR as the platform for an improved Hybrid powertrain setup, adding more get up and go and refinement to the 1.8 litre Hybrid powertrain on offer in the C-HR already, and previewing its roll-out across more of the Toyota range.
Also heading for Frankfurt is what Toyota are calling the ‘New Toyota Land Cruiser’. And we have no more information than that.
Is the ‘New’ Land Cruiser really a new car, or is it a titivate of the Land Cruiser which was last updated in 2015?
All Toyota are saying is that it will retain the body-on-frame construction, but the now 10-year old Land Cruiser is certainly due to be changed. We’ll find out later next week.
As well as the C-HR Hy-Power and new Land Cruiser, Toyota will also be debuting the Yaris GRMN to a European audience.
