Toyota RAV4 updated – and with HYBRID RAV4s now available right across the range
The Toyota RAV4 has been given a bit of an update and is now available with hybrid powertrain right across the RAV4 range. Hybrid RAV4 from £29,005.
As buyers start to eschew diesels (actually, it’s really old diesels they should worry about, not Euro 6 diesels), Toyota are reaping benefit from the diesel backlash with their extensive range of hybrid options. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid already accounts for two-thirds of Toyota’s RAV4 sales, but that’s not enough for Toyota so they’re now making sure every RAV4 model can be had with a hybrid powertrain.
From October you’ll be able to have the RAV4 Hybrid across all model grades, with the Icon and Tech versions coming with front-wheel drive and Design and Excel the option of E-Four all-wheel drive.
You can still get the 2.0 D-4D Diesel with front-wheel drive and the 2.0 litre petrol with CVT and all-wheel drive, but they’re likely to account for even fewer sales than they already do with the extension of availability of the Hybrid versions.
The new Icon trim comes with 7″ Touchscreen, Bluetooth, DAB, reversing camera, Toyota Safety Sense, Climate, auto lights and wipers and power tailgate, with Icon Tech models getting Sat Nav and Touch 2.
The new RAV4 Design gets 18″ alloys, LED headlights, leather and Alcantara with power front heated seats, and the RAV4 Excel gets gloss black 18″ alloys, black door mirrors, leather seats, Voice Recognition, Blind SPot Monitor and Traffic Alert.
Options now include Visibility Pack and Assist Pack, with a new colour – Tokyo Red – and a full body colour treatment for the RAV4 Design.
On sale from OCtober 1, the RAV4 starts at £27,450 for the FWD diesel Icon rising to £34,895 for the RAV4 Excel Hybrid AWD.
