Lotus Exige Cup 430 Type 25 – the Old English White one
The Lotus Exige Cup 430 Type 25 is yet another Limited Edition Lotus, this time paying homage to the Type 25 F1 car with a titivated Exige Cup 430.
Geely may have taken control at Lotus, and they are delivering funding to help Lotus fulfil its potential. But in the meantime Lotus is on a mission to deliver more ‘Limited Edition’ models than regular cars in an effort to prise cash from buyers, and here we have yet another – the Lotus Exige Cup 430 Type 25 Collectors Edition.Lotus’s motivation for the Exige Cup 430 Type 25 is to pay homage to the Type 25 F1 car from 1963 which dominated the sport, and if you stump up £110,000 for the car you’ll also get a raft of specially commissioned heritage documentation too, including signed stuff and a tribute to Jim Clark.
Under the skin is the regular production Exige Cup 430, which means 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds from its 430bhp V6, but this car isn’t about more power, but about the titivations.
Lotus are building just 25 of these limited edition Exiges, finished in either Old English White (above) or Lotus Racing Green (below), with bits of carbon fibre and splashes of green (on the White cars) or Yellow (on the Green cars) and ‘Type 25’ badges.
Inside it’s all change with the addition of a wooden gear knob. Oh, and striped headrests and a bit of contrast stitching.
It looks like the odds are evens on another ‘new’ Lotus before the month end. Is it us, or is this getting a bit silly?
