New Kia Proceed Shooting Brake set for a Paris Motor Show reveal
A third variant of the new Kia Ceed – a ‘Shooting Brake Proceed – look set to join the Ceed Hatch and Sportwagon with a debut at the Paris Motor Show later this year.
Last year, Kia revealed an ‘Extended Hatchback’ Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a hint at what was to come from the new Kia Ceed. But, to no one’s great surprise, when the new Kia Ceed arrived (and the new Ceed Sportwagon) there really weren’t too many similarities to be found between the concept and new Ceed. But that looks set to change.
Just has Hyundai are extending their range of bodystles with the i30 Fastback, Kia looks set to add a Shooting Brake offering to the Ceed range in the form of a new Proceed.
Auto Week in The Netherlands have been talking to Kia’s Head of Product Planning, David Labrosse, who confirmed a third Ceed is coming and that, he heavily hinted, it will bow in at the Paris Motor Show in October.
If Kia follows the Ceed Concept faithfully, the new Proceed should be a cracking looking car, some way removed from previous generation three-door Proceeds and offering a very stylish alternative to both the Ceed Hatch and Ceed Estate.
No doubt we’ll discover more before the Proceed Shooting Brake finds its way on to the floor in Paris in the Autumn.
