Toyota Hilux Invincible 50 will costs £39,995 in the UK
The Toyota Hilux Invincible 50, a special limited edition Hilux to celebrate 50 year of the Hilux, will costs £39,995 in the UK.
A few weeks ago, the Toyota Hilux Invincible 50 was revealed as a special edition Hilux Pick-up to celebrate 50 years of Hilux pick-ups, with just 50 destined to be sold in the UK.Toyota promised that the Hilux Invincible 50 wouldn’t be silly money, and at £39,995 it’s not, although it is knocking on the door of the Mercedes X-Class pick-up.
But unlike the Mercedes X-Class, the Toyota Hilux does have a reputation for ruggedness garnered over half a century of being a real workhorse, and the Hilux Invincible 50 is a pretty special piece of kit.
Engineered with Arctic Trucks – the firm which built the North Pole conquering Hilux – it comes with a new suspension setup from Arctic and Bilstein Performance Dampers, wider front and rear wings, double hoop sports bar with a quartet of Vision X lights. Line-C bed liner, a set of Arctic Truck mud flaps and some ‘Invincible 50’ badging.
Despite this Hilux’s obvious rough stuff credentials, it seems likely they’ll actually be bought by business users as a showy pick-up with appealing tax breaks which can be used as a family car too, thanks to its double cab layout.
Now on sale in the UK, you’ll probably need to make your mind up quickly if you want one, with just 50 available, but with a single black colour option and Hobson’s with the 148bhp 2.4-litre diesel and six-speed auto ‘box, you won’t need to spend much time sorting it.
