Ford Mustang Bullitt production extended
Production of the limited edition Ford Mustang Bullitt – celebrating 50 years since the film, is extended by another year after the original run sold out.
Now the UK gets the Ford Mustang, we also get limited edition Mustangs too, which is why Ford put the Mustang Bullitt on sale last year. The Mustang Bullitt was built to celebrate 50 years since Steve McQueen’s Bullitt gave the Mustang a starring role, and it came with plenty of ‘Bullitt’ tributes.
They included a Dark Highland Green paint job, a Bullitt design on the grille and splitter, a set of 19″ gloss black alloys, red Brembo calipers, Recaro leather seats with green detailing, a Bullitt instrument panel badge, cue ball gear knob and even a bit of B&O Sound (not that Steve McQueen got B&O Sound).
Ford also gave the Bullitt Mustang a bit of a warm-over, with the Mustnag’s V8 getting an extr 14bhp and rev-matching for blippy gear changes.
The Mustang Bullitt was supposed to be available only for a year, but a year on Ford has decided to extend production for another year, so if you want a Bullitt Mustang you can.
The price has gone up to £48,120 (it was £47,145), and deliveries to UK buyers will start in early 2020.
