The Dacia Sandero and Sandero Stepway get the option of the 155 Hybrid powertrain from the Duster and Jogger. Priced from £17,995.
There’s no denying that Renault’s Dacia brand is a roaring success as a budget offering, with buyers in these difficult times flocking in big enough droves to the brand to make its Sandero model the best-selling car in Europe.‘Budget’ Dacia may be, but it’s still managing to bring modern tech to the budget game, with new tech including Hybrid powertrain options for the Jogger and Duster.
Now, Dacia has added the 155 Hybrid option to its supermini Sandero and its SUV-ish sibling, the Sandero Stepway, in the process managing to deliver the cheapest full hybrid model to the UK market.
The Hybrid 155 powertrain for the Sandero is the same as that used in other Dacia models, with a 1.8-litre four-pot petrol engine, electric motor and starter-generator, and a very modest 1.4kWh battery, combined to deliver 155bhp, 67mpg and 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds.
The Sandero Hybrid 155 is available in Expression and Journey trims at £17,995 and £19,295 respectively, with Expression models coming with 10″ Infotainment, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, Air Con, Cruise, Auto lights and wipers and reversing camera, with Journey trim adding digital driver display, Arkamys Sound, Auto Air Con, Keyless, heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless phone charging and Multiview camera.
Opt for the more rugged Sandero Stepway Hybrid 155, and you get the same choice of Expression and Journey trim – at £1,295 and £20,595 respectively, with much the same spec as the Sandero
Lina Ribeiro, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, said:
Whether you prefer the straightforward simplicity of Sandero or the more rugged character of Sandero Stepway, you now get those same useful hybrid benefits while keeping everything that makes each model such a strong Dacia.
The Dacia Sandero and Sandero Stepway Hybrid 155 are now on sale in the UK.
