Kia has launched the Kia Soul Tempest – a limited edition Soul in Silver – replacing the discontinued Kia Soul Samba.
Kia, like Hyundai, are making some credible, well-made and affordable cars these days. But they do like a special edition or two, so they’ve just announced the Kia Soul tempest which goes on offer now and take the place of the Kia Soul Samba. Keeping up?
The Kia Soul, although not exactly the prettiest car in the world, is a very good little package. Loads of room and cheap to buy and run, it solves a transport problem for a lot of car buyers. The ride’s pretty good – as long as you steer away from the big wheels; you get a great big warranty, it’s cheap and you’re going to get from mid 40s to high 50s mpg depending on engine.
The new Limited Edition Tempest comes in silver with black highlights, has 18″ wheels (the ones that make the ride choppy!) and ‘Soul-Shine’ black interior trim with chrome highlights. Standard kit also includes a reversing camera and beefed up audio with a sub-woofer and external amp.
At prices starting at just £12,845 and with a choice of 1.6 litre petrol or diesel lumps (and even an auto option on the diesel) this might not be the most exciting new buy on the block but you get a lot of better than half-decent metal for your money.
