The new Aston Martin DB11, revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, gets its global dynamic debut at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed this month.
It was a long time coming, but the Aston Martin DB11 finally arrived at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring to let the 14-year old DB9 drift off in to a much deserved retirement. But the car Aston Martin revealed at Geneva was a long way from the finished article – under the skin, at least – with plenty of work to do before it goes in to production. But we’re guessing much of that has now been done as AML are happy to roll out the new DB11 for its global dynamic debut this month.
The DB11’s first dynamic outing will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed where Aston’s CEO, Andy Palmer, will be taking the DB11 up the hillclimb, giving Goodwood’s discerning audience the chance to see, and hear, how the DB9 has morphed in to the DB11.
But this is Goodwood, so, important though the DB11 is, it’s not going to be the most impressive Aston Martin on view, not by a long chalk.
A year on from its Goodwood debut, the 820bhp Aston Martin Vulcan will be back – and in action on the hillclimb – and the Vantage GT8 will be taking part in the Supercar run, as will the V12 Vantage S with its manual gearbox.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from 23-26 June 2016.
