The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato, first shown as a concept at Villa d’Este last month, turns in to a limited production run of 99 cars.
Aston Martin continued its long association with Zagato at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este with the reveal of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept, which looked a likely candidate for a limited run production. Now – due to unprecedented demand, say Aston Martin – the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato turns from a Villa d’Este concept in to a production car, with 99 being built to empty the wallets of well-heeled Aston Martin enthusiasts around the globe.
Looking essentially the same as the Villa d’Este concept, the production Vanquish Zagato uses big lumps of carbon fibre to keep lines unobtrusive, round Zagato LED tail lights, a ‘Visor’ glasshouse, Zagato’s double-bubble roof, a back end that looks like the new DB11 and a set of side strakes from the CC-100.
Inside gets some titivation too, with Herringbone carbon fibre with shadow and anodised bronze leather, a ‘Z’ quilted pattern in the leather and a ‘Z’ on the headrests too.
Under the bonnet isn’t Aston’s new turbo V12, but the naturally aspirated V12 we’ve known for a long time but here uprated to deliver 592bhp and hustle the Vanquish Zagato to 62mph in 3.5 seconds.
Aston Martin aren’t saying how much they want for each of the 99 Vanquish Zagatos, but the regular Vanquish is almost £200k so we’re guessing the Vanquish Zagato will be at least twice that. Or three times. Or more?
