Audi A3 Clubsport – now on video

The Audi A3 Clubsport – a concept hot A3 for Worthersee with 518bhp – is now shown on video and looks to point at a new Audi RS3.

It’s a couple of weeks since Audi revealed their A3 Clubsport as a concept for the Worthersee show, and now we get to see the Clubsport on video.

Based on the Audi S3, the A3 Clubsport looks to be a clear indication of a new RS3 to come, and if it is, it’s very appealing.

Sporting Audi’s 5-cylinder with a very fulsome 518 bhp and 442lb/ft of torque means the Clubsport can get to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and drive all four wheels thanks to its quattro 4WD.

But what the A3 Clubsport has – which we can’t see making it in to a production RS3 – is a huge rear air brake which covers a big chunk of the boot, is electrohydraulic and is able to decrease stopping distance from 155mph by 12 meters thanks to the extra downforce allowing the ESC to allocate more braking power.

It’s a startlingly able concept from Audi although its extreme performance – and power and torque – are likely to be less extreme in any production car.

But it’s a great teaser for a new Audi RS3, if that’s what it is.
