Audi is promising a total of nine UK public debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, from the new Q2 to the range-topping R8 V10 Spyder.
This week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will, see lots of UK debuts, but it seems Audi will probably take the gong for the most from a single maker with the appearance of nine new Audis never before seen in public in the UK.
The extremes of the new models are the new addition to Audi SUV family – the new Audi Q2 – which arrives as an entry-level SUV, and the range-topping Audi R8 V10 Spyder – the fresh air take on Audi’s naturally aspirated V10 supercar.
But in between the two extremes there’s a plethora of new models including the new Audi S5 Coupe – revealed along with the A5 Coupe earlier this month – and the Audi TT RS which, considering it was revealed more than a year ago, is hardly new, but apparently it’s a first UK appearance.
Audi are also taking a couple of Q7s to Goodwood, with the Q7 e-tron quattro offering competition for the Volvo XC90 T8, and the SQ7 offering an impressive diesel performance that actually shames Porsche’s V8 Cayenne diesel (but probably not for long). There’s also a new limited edition R8 – the R8 V10 plus selection 24h – and the refreshed A3 range.
But as well as a swarm of new models, Audi will also be entering in to the spirit of the FoS with the R8 V10 Plus going up the hillclimb in the Supercar run all weekend, the 1991 Audi V8 DTM will hit the hillclimb and Nick Mason will drive an Auto Union Type C to celebrate its 1936 European Championship victory.
If you don’t already have tickets for the Festival of Speed you’ll probably struggle – but it’s worth the effort.
