Citroen DS9 (which we thought was the Citroen DS6) uncovered

Is this the Citroen DS9 and not the DS6?

The new range-topping Citroen DS (which is probably the Citroen DS9) has been photographed undisguised in Paris.

Just a few days ago we published a tease photo for a new DS Citroen, which we expected to be the new DS6. But there now seems to be some doubt if that is the case.

The new Citroen is certainly a new DS, but it could end up being the Citroen DS9, especially if the photo we have here of Citroen’s new DS is anything to go by. The big ‘9’ on the number plate seems to be conclusive.

So we’ll now have to call the new DS the DS9 and not the DS6, but in all the ways that matter it’s the same car; a new range-topping Citroen DS to ferry French Government Ministers around and to flog to the Chinese.

That means a big DS9 on the way that seems to be based on the Citroen Metropolis Concept. Whether that means a hybrid setup we don’t yet know, and there are certainly some changes from the Metropolis with the DS9 looking like a very stretched hatchback.

It seems likely Citroen will now release official information on the new DS9 tout suite.
