Ford are unveiling the latest in their range of C-Segment cars at Geneva – the 2011 Ford Focus Estate.
Ford are busy delivering cars based on their new C–Segment platform to the market. We saw the 2011 Ford Focus arrive at the Detroit Motor Show at the start of the year. Prior to that we saw the C-Max and Grand C-Max at Frankfurt in September. And now we get the latest variant – the 2011 Ford Focus Estate – bowing in at the Geneva Motor Show.
And the Focus Estate won’t be the last car to be built on the C-Segment platform. Not by a long way. Ford are already planning a new Focus Coupe Cabriolet and we’ll get a new Kuga based on the same platform. In fact Ford has stated their will be at least ten variants coming in to production by the end of 2012.
The Focus Estate is a big deal for Ford, as it contributes around a third of all Focus sales and in some markets – such as Italy and Germany – as much as 50%. So they need to get it right.
The Focus Estate is identical to the Focus Saloon / Hatch back to the B-Pillars and then gets a big load area bolted on. But it’s done well and, with its integrated roof rails, follows on with Ford’s kinetic design language. Engine options are likely to be the same as the 2011 Focus Hatch and sales will start in Europe in 2011.
One option that will be missing from the Focus Estate – at least as far as we know – is the RS version. But Ford have now confirmed our earlier report that the 2011/2012 Focus RS will be a Hybrid with Ford’s EcoBoost Engine.

Well lets hope it turns out like it looks Ford definately need to do something about fuel economy in its ranges i have a 1.4 titanium fiesta auto 2009 model which manages 25-27 mpg urban 35 on a run a long way from brochure figures and i have friends with focuses getting similar or worse my 2005 astra 1.6 auto was better. Build quality is also an issue resistors/fuses/wheel bearings/bushes all problem area’s come on Ford Henry would be turning in his grave.

Right it looks like a shrunken Mondeo, still well done and thought this new Focus looks very butch.. although have to say they sort of made the grille bland unlike the rest of the bodywork.
