Ford Mondeo prices DOWN by up to £3,000 – and a simplified range too
Ford is cutting the price of the Mondeo range by up to the £3,000 (for the Mondeo Vignale) as it fights for buyers with a simplified range.
The Ford Mondeo is the core of Ford’s business buyer offerings, with more than 85 per cent of Mondeos bought by company car divers. But it’s a shrinking market. As car buyers fall in love with SUVs and Crossovers, the traditional ‘rep-mobile’ Mondeo is often overlooked in favour of something more contemporary and funky. Which is a shame, because the Mondeo rally is a very good car.
But Ford has a plan to inject a bit of oomph in to Mondeo sales – a price cut.
Apart from the headline price of the Mondeo being important for private buyers, business buyers get caught by BIK charges based on the list price, so price cuts for the Mondeo mean more money in the pay packets of reps.
Ford is reducing the cost of the Mondeo Vignale by £3,000, £2,500 on the Zetec and ST-Line and £2,000 on the Titanium Edition. Which will help.
Ford is also simplifying the Mondeo range, cutting the number of models from seven to five.
The new Zetec Edition kicks off the Mondeo range from £19,445, followed by ST-Line and ST-Line Edition, Titanium Edition and the range-topping Mondeo Vignale.
All Mondeos have Sat Nav, DAB, Autonomous Braking, Parking Sensors and Cruise, with ST-Line adding cosmetic tweaks, lower sports suspension and keyless, and the ST-Line Edition Privacy Glass and 19″ alloys.
Opt for the Titanium Edition and you can option Ford’s Hybrid Petrol engine, and you’ll also get leather heated seats, and the Vignale now gets the optional Nero appearance pack as standard which includes 19″ dar alloys and darkened chrome trim.
The new Ford Mondeo range is now on sale at Ford’s UK dealers, with first customer cars due in November.
