The Mondeo ST-Line joins Ford’s new ST-Line range
The Ford Mondeo ST-Line has joined the Focus and Fiesta in Ford’s new sporty-looking ST-Line Range. Debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Ford launched their new ST-Line with the Fiesta and Focus earlier this month, offering some of the looks of Ford’s performance cars but mated to less powerful underpinnings. And now it’s the turn of the Mondeo to join the ST-Line range. The Ford Mondeo ST-Line debuts today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and is all the more interesting because there isn’t actually a Mondeo ST to base its looks on. But it looks the part anyway.
Ford say the ST-Line Mondeo is their sportiest since the ST220 almost 15 years ago, so we’re assuming that in addition to the 2.0 litre TDCi engines Ford tell us are going to be available in the ST-Line, they are also going to make the ST-Line available with the 237bhp 2.0 T engine.
But whatever goes under the bonnet, the Mondeo ST-Line looks good with its honeycomb grilles, LED running lights, sport bumpers and side skirts, 18″ (and 19″) alloys, Sports Seats with red stitching and a roof spoiler.
Engine options are only at the top end and include the 2.0 TDCi diesel with 148bhp or 177bhp (and, we’re assuming, the 2.0 litre T), a manual or Ford’s six-speed PowerShift automatic gearbox and the option of Ford’s All Wheel Drive.
The Mondeo ST-Line is the third ST-Line model, but there’s still one more to come. What will it be?
