Ford Mustang-inspired ELECTRIC SUV debut confirmed
The new electric SUV from Ford inspired by the Mustang will debut on 18 November, Ford announce, prior to the Los Angeles Motor Show.
Ford isn’t making any secret of the fact that they see their future as a maker of SUVs and the Mustang, and both are coming together next month with the arrival of a new electric SUV from Ford.
Inspired by the Mustang, Ford arrived with a tease for the new electric Mustang SUV last month, and now it’s back with another tease (above) showing the new EV’s profile and confirming it will be revealed on 17 November.
The ‘Mustang SUV’ will be Ford’s first car designed and built as an EV, and we were expecting it to be dubbed the Mach One, but it now seems more likely to carry the Ford Mach-E moniker.
All we officially know at the moment is that the new EV will have a range of up to 370 miles, although that will almost certainly be a range-topping model, with cheaper models with smaller batteries offering a reduced range and lower prices.
But there has been talk that Ford will also deliver a proper performance version of the electric SUV, presumably targeted at bragging rights and trying to match the sort of performance figures Tesla boast.
We’ll know more in a few weeks when the electric Mustang SUV debuts live online from a Los Angeles location before heading to the Los Angeles Motor Show for its public debut.
