The Hyundai i30N Fastback (pictured) will debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show
The Hyundai i30 Fastback N, Hyundai’s second ‘N’ model for the UK and Europe will arrive with a world record race from Rome to Paris on 26 September.
The Hyundai i30 N has been a cracking success for Hyundai, and it’s due to get a support act – the new Hyundai i30 Fastback N – scheduled to be given its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in a couple of weeks time. But ahead of that Hyundai has proclaimed it will in fact get a public reveal a few days earlier, on 26 September, as Hyundai pro drivers Thierry Neuville Gabriele Tarquini both jump in an i30 Fastback N on a world record race from Rome to Paris.
Now we’re not averse to a bit of Gumball maverick road racing, but somehow we can’t see a responsible, grown-up company like Hyundai willing to countenance some sort of no holds barred, speed limit ignoring mad blat through Italy and France just to grab a few headlines. So they obviously have some sort of different world record race planned.
Perhaps they’re planning a blat round every race track they can find from Rome to Paris, or maybe it’s some sort of daft economy special. But whatever it is, we’re pretty sure it won’t include breaking every speed limit on the 900 mile jaunt.
All will be revealed in a few days time.
