We finally have UK prices and models for the new Hyundai ix35, which starts at just £16,495 and rises to £20,745
Over the weekend we ran a report on the Hyundai ix35 prices that had been released in France, and were a bit surprised at how strong the prices seemed. We did caution that you couldn’t take the French prices and do a straight conversion as UK prices and Euro prices are different, and there was every chance that specifications would be different. But wonder no more. We now have Hyundai ix35 prices for the UK.
Unlike France, the UK has just two specification levels – the Hyundai ix35 Style and the Hyundai ix35 Premium. And there will be just two engines available at launch – the 2.0 litre petrol and the 134hp version of the R Series diesel. Sadly, the UK is not going to get the 184hp version of this engine for whatever reason.
The entry-level ix35 Style comes with a decent spec which includes 17″ alloys, ESP, AirCon, Bluetooth , heated front and rear seats, reverse parking sensors and a trip computer. Move up to the ix35 Premium and you get 18″ alloys, a double-length panoramic glass sunroof, auto lights and wipers, cruise, dual zone Climate, folding mirrors, keyless entry and start, privacy glass, half-leather and roof rails. There are also plenty of decent options including full leather, touch-screen sat-nav and a reversing camera.
The Hyundai ix35 comes with a 5 year warranty and class-leading residuals, which should make it a real bargain buy on contract hire or lease. The ix35 2.0CRDi Style 2WD (the diesel will be the big seller and the 2WD the biggest seller of all) has a 43% residual after 3 years / 30k miles, which matches the Nissan Qashqai and beats the VW Tiguan. Impressive stuff.
Two more models will be added to the range later this year – the 1.7 litre diesel and a 1.6 litre petrol. Hyundai tell us they are aiming to get these to market in September, but October at latest.

After waiting for the prices and release of the ix35 went to cost out the lease of one, I also looked at the qashqai. As it turns out can’t afford ix35 on lease as it’s over £100 a month more than the QQ tekna and the purchase ‘deals’ finance are much worse. Having said that it is a great looking car and maybe I’ll look to leasing one after the QQ in 3 years.

Hi, great thanks, phew! what a relief the prices are good. Do you know of the 184bhp 4WD will be available in the UK?
CarsUK says
Unfortunately, as we said in the story, Hyundai have decided not to bring the 184 ix35 diesel to the UK. Which is a bit of a shame.
JP says
Although it’s only a rough conversion calculation, you haven’t mentioned that you were about £7,000 too high on your prices estimates!
CarsUK says
Well, we did say it was just a guide and you couldn’t do a straight conversion! But we are surprised out how different UK prices are to the French.
