Volvo has released a tease video for a world première on 17th May, which could be news of the much anticipated new XC90.
We’re not entirely sure what to make of a new tease video from Volvo that’s dropped in to our inbox.Volvo are trailing it as a ‘World Première’ for the 17th May, and it’s clear it’s going to be something rugged as the very short video focuses clearly on the great outdoors.
The video shows an ‘outdoor’ man walking form a vehicle at the edge of a lake towards a lighthouse and as the shot pulls out we can see the vehicle he’s walking away from, and it’s clearly an SUV or Crossover.
But although clearly a Volvo, it’s not very clear exactly what the Volvo is. And the only thing we’re expecting fairly soon from Volvo is the 2015 XC90.
We know Volvo has a replacement for the XC90 in the works – which will feature Volvo’s new VEA four cylinder engines – but we do wonder if this is a bit early to be previewing it? Maybe it’s not.
It could just be some sort of ‘Eco’ announcement from Volvo, but if it is the new Volvo XC90 it seems we’ll know more tomorrow.

Oblivious says
It’s hard to judge without real perspective but this new Volvo (if that’s what it is) looks too small to be a new XC90.
Mercedes62 says
It does look quite like the design sketches you ran of the new XC90. But it could be almost anything.
