Jaguar i-Pace in-car technology highlighted on video
The Jaguar i-Pace electric SUV is now revealed as a production model, so we take a look at exactly what in-car technology the i-Pace offers in a new video from Jaguar.
The Jaguar i-Pace has now been revealed in production guise, and it looks like Jaguar has delivered a properly appealing electric SUV with a stand-out, innovative design and an electric powertrain both appealingly potent and capable of delivering a real-world ICE matching range – and with quick charging. That means 395bhp from its electric motors, good for 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds, around 300 miles of range from a full charge and, depending on where you plug it in, an 80 per cent range in around 45 minutes.
But the bit that matters most in the real world is the cabin, and exactly what that has to offer. And in recent years Jaguar interiors seem to have lost their way a bit, and Jaguar’s infotainment interface has, at best, been competent and at worse downright clunky.
But JLR’s interiors are improving once more, and the latest Touch Pro Duo screens in the i-Pace – a 10″ touchscreen in the dashboard and a lower 5″ screen for functions like HVAC – looks to be both appealing to look at and good at what they do.
Everything from driving modes and vehicle setups look easy to access, a 4G WiFi hotspot option, good Sat Nav functionality, over the air software updates, Smartphone interaction, the ability to use stuff like Alexa to ‘talk’ to the car from home, and much more.
It looks convincing, comprehensive and beautifully designed – although we haven’t played in the real world yet – and does look to give the i-Pace in-car functionality to match its innovative design and EV powertrain.
All is explained in the video below.
