Ricky Wilson and Example promote Spotify with Jaguar XE and Evoque Convertible
Jaguar and Land Rover’s InControl now comes with a new Spotify App for better in-car sounds, with JLR enlisting Example and Ricky Wilson to promote the new App.
Now Jaguar and Land Rover no longer have steam-driven infotainment, the range of offerings to keep you interested in-car continues to grow, and the latest to land on Jaguar Land Rover’s InControl is a new Spotify App.Clearly, a simple announcement that Spotify is now available on JLR’s InControl just wouldn’t do, so we get a mock battle between musicians and Jaguar Land Rover lovers Example and Ricky Wilson to plant the new Spotify App firmly in our minds.
To that end, JLR give Ricky Wilson a Range Rover Evoque Convertible and Example gets a Jaguar XE, and they discuss their playlists as they drive round town (in the video below).
Of course, both musicians have a new single to plug (you scratch my back…), with the Kaiser Chiefs’ ‘Hole in My Soul’ and Example’s ‘Later’ obviously on the playlists.
Peter Virk, JLR’s ‘Connected Director’, said:
Spotify has more than 100 million subscribers, a proportion of whom drive Jaguars or Land Rovers, so we recognised that Spotify was at the top of our customers’ apps wish list. From the beginning we wanted to create a Spotify experience that users would really love.
The Spotify design team worked closely with us to create the best in-vehicle experience, and have spent many hours with us at our Gaydon HQ running user studies with our employees.
If you have a Jaguar or Land Rover with InControl, rather than the old steam-driven Atari infotainment, you’ll be able to download the new JLR Spotify App this month. And you don’t need a premium subscription to access it either.
