The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon – a rugged off-road limited edition Wrangler from Jeep – goes on sale in the UK costing from £40,505.

If you want a car that can do off-road as well as on-road, the default choice is a Land Rover. But actually, Jeep has off-road, rufty-tufty credentials to match Land Rover – and it’s been doing it for longer.

Admittedly, the offerings for Jeep aren’t as sophisticated as those from Land Rover – particularly on-road – but if you want a vehicle which really can cope with the rough stuff, then a Jeep could suit your needs.

If your needs are particularly extreme, then the Jeep Wrangler is the car of choice, and in case you need even more protection from the rough stuff than the Wrangler offers as standard then this, the Jeep wrangler Rubicon Recon could be right up your street.

Improvements include a stringer front axle and heavy-duty cast rear diff covers to protect when the going gets really rough, but there are plenty of other titivations too.

They include 18″ low gloss Granite Crystal painted alloys, a black dual top, a dual-vented power dome bonnet with ‘Rubicon’ decal, Trail Rated logo and a black hard cover for the spare wheel.

Inside there’s black leather heated seats with red stitching. red accent netting on the front door pockets, red accent seatbelts and a unique leather steering wheel.

Available as a two or four-door, the Wrangler Rubicon Recon gets Jeep’s 3.6 litre V6 petrol with 280bhp and a five-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon costs from £40,505 for the two-door and £42,175 for the four-door and is now on sale at Jeep’s UK dealers.
