The first photos of the Lamborghini SUV – the Lamborghini Urus – have been revealed in EVO magazine.
Yes, the Lamborghini SUV will be the Lamborghini Urus, and we have the first photos.
EVO Magazine has a full review of the Urus SUV in its latest edition, and the photo above is the main photo from the story. It shows the Lamborghini Urus as it will appear at Beijing this weekend – and looks to be the car from the private reveal of the Urus last week.
Evo say that Lamborghini are going the SUV route for the simple reason that their existing customers almost all have a big SUV in the garage, and they’re hoping to sell 3,500 a year. That’s twice what the Gallardo and Aventador currently sell so Lamborghini are obviously hoping the Urus will be their Cayenne-like cash-cow.
The Urus is under 5m long, 2m, wide and sits even lower than a Cayenne. It will share its platform with the next Cayenne, Q7 and the new Bentley SUV and will be at least 100kg lighter than those.
Weight saving has been achieved with extensive use of forged composite resin infused with strands of carbon fibre that’s 50 per cent quicker to form than pure CFRP and will also be used extensively on next year’s Sesto Elemento.
The power for the Urus looks like it’s going to be the new Bentley V8 but with the dial turned up to somewhere around 600b bhp.
No doubt we’ll get a full set of Lamborghini Urus photos over the weekend.
