The Lexus RC Coupe gets a facelift for 2019, with sharper looks – inspired by the Lexus LC – added refinements and improved driving.
The Lexus RC is a car which looks terrific and brings a very Lexus take on what a premium coupe should be.Rather than a hard ride and twitchy responses – great for when you really want to take on a B-road – the RC is about looks, refinement, quality materials and a sense of calm. And Lexus are delivering more of the same for the 2019 Lexus RC Facelift, due to debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.
The changes aren’t enormous, but Lexus has worked to make the RC more like the range-topping LC Coupe, with the front bumper and grille given a tweak, triple LED headlights, air ducts on the back bumpers, wider stance and new combination tail lights.
The new RC F Sport also gets the same grille mesh as other Lexus F Sport models, as well as 19″ alloys similar to the LC and LS and a choice of 11 exterior colours.
Inside, ‘Hairline’ treatment is added to some surfaces to give a higher quality finish, there’s a new analogue clock, aluminium Naguri and Dark Gray Hairline trim options on the F Sport, and new interior colour options including Ocher and Mustard Yellow.
Lexus say the new RC gets a flatter and more stable ride thanks to small tweaks to the aerodynamics and suspension, including new shocks and stiffer suspension bushes, and improved throttle response on the 2.0 litre.
Due to debut at the Paris Motor Show, the new Lexus RC will go on sale in Japan before the end of the year, but probably won’t arrive in the UK until 2019.
