Mercedes GLC Coupe teased (a bit pointlessly) on video

The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is heading for a debut at the New York Motor Show next week, ahead of which Mercedes are teasing it on video.

We’re never entirely sure why car makers bother ‘teasing’ a new car when we’re all pretty sure what’s coming, which is pretty much the case with the new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, heading for a New York Motor Show debut next week.

We already know what the new GLC offers (even the AMG GLC43), and as Mercedes delivered a concept GLC Coupe last year we can be pretty sure there will be no big surprises.

Yes, a few bits on the concept Coupe won’t follow through to the production car – like the missing door handles – but to all intents and purposes the shape will, which means a compact SUV that has a coupe roofline and a less practical nature, and will be Mercedes’ answer to the BMW X4.

Much of the engine range the GLC offers (and will offer) is expected to carry over to the Coupe, including the AMG GLC 43 Coupe which will get the same 3.0 litre V6 twin-turbo with 362bhp as the regular GLC, as well as versions of the 220d, 250d and, at some point, a 350e hybrid.

All will be revealed next week in New York.
