Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, Merry Christmas (or any felicitation that suits you) from all at Cars UK.
Cars UK is all about the latest car news and reviews, so our own little elves don’t really get a day off. But we do make an exception for Christmas Day, so this is the only car news ‘story’ today.
As we usually do, we’ve pinched Bernie Ecclestone’s festive offering to offer a little Christmas titter, and to deliver a quick look at what Bernie thinks is the biggest story from F1 in 2012.
Unsurprisingly, Bernie has picked the defection of Lewis Hamilton from McLaren to Mercedes to fill the hole left by Michael Schumacher (a ‘hole’ that was undoubtedly made by Hamilton’s willingness to move from McLaren).
Bernie’s card shows Hamilton jumping out of his broken-down McLaren (sadly, a situation that happened too often in 2012) and hopping over the circuit wall in to a waiting Mercedes saloon, driven by Niki Lauda and filled with cash, and heading for Stuttgart – which isn’t far.
And that’s it for today. But if you’ve come looking for an escape from your Christmas fracas, just browse through the tens of thousands of car photos or thousands of car news stories to help put you back in a more sane frame of mind before you rejoin the fray.
We’ll be back again on Boxing Day, but now we’re off to eat, drink and be merry. Ho, ho, ho!
