MG are teasing a ‘much improved’ MG6 for 2015 with a single teaser photo of a new headlight, promising styling updates and improvements to economy and emissions.

Just the headlight of the 2015 MG6, but MG promise big changes to the new MG6
MG may not be the most appealing re-launch of an iconic brand in history, but the now Chinese MG are working hard to improve their products and sell themselves as the ‘New Koreans’ – decent cars with appealing prices – now Kia and Hyundai have gone upmarket and joined the mainstream.
That includes tweaks for the 1.9 litre DTi-TECH diesel engine, which MG say will get lower CO2 emissions and better economy, although they don’t say whether the 1.8 litre petrol option will get similar attention.
MG are also promising comprehensive updates to the looks of the MG6 – trailed by the single photo (above) of new, more modern, headlights – but it seems likely the changes won’t amount to a lot more than a decent facelift.
Inside, we’re expecting some improvements to materials and perceived quality, with MG saying the new MG6 will get one of the best Infotainment systems in class and a state of the art Sat Nav that will set new standards. Which is setting the bar quite high.
Matthew Cheyne, MG’s Marketing am, said:
This is a totally different car to the original MG6 with a host of new technologies and major advances in every area.
We will reveal the full story and prices when the car is unveiled shortly. But the New MG6 is a big leap forward from the original car which has been the result of thousands of hours of dedicated work from our designers and engineers.
With the 2015 MG6 due to go on sale next month, it can’t be long before MG let us have a bit more than a photo of a headlight.
