The Audi Q2 – Audi’s new baby SUV – goes on sale in the UK with prices starting from £20,230 (eventually) and a range-topping Q2 Edition #1.
There was lots of discussion ahead of Audi launching their baby SUV about its name (would it be the Audi Q1 or Q2?), but those questions were answered when the Audi Q2 was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year.Looking just like a boil wash version of its bigger siblings (the Q3, Q5 and Q7), the Q2 is Audi’s take on a ‘Premium’ urban SUV, and by June we knew that it would cost from £20,230, come with the option of three trim levels – SE, Sport and S Line – and rise in price to £30,610.
And although the prices aren’t exactly bargain basement, the specs aren’t bad, with the SE getting 16″ alloys, MMI, Bluetooth and heated mirrors, the Q2 Sport adding 17″ alloys, Drive Select, Cruise and auto lights and wipers and the Q2 S Line a butch body kit, 18″ alloys, LED lights and leather.
But Audi want a piece of the ‘First Edition’ bandwagon for the Q2, so they’re also delivering what they’re calling the Audi Q2 Edition #1 with lots of toys and a bigger price tag – starting from £31,170.
The Edition #1 gets a Quantum Grey paint job with the bottom half in Manhattan Grey, gloss black C-pillars, black 19″ alloys and black for the grille, diffuser and mirrors.
Inside there’s illuminated inlays in a format design across the dashboard, Nappa leather front sports seats with contrast Amaretto Brown stripes, with the Amaretto also appearing on the mats, kneepads and armrests.
Only the 1.4 litre TFSI and 1.6 litre TDI are available to order now, with the 1.0 litre TFSI available later this year, and in 2017 you’ll be able to have a 2.0 TFSI and quattro 4WD.
Oh, and you can’t actually order the Q2 Edition #1 until next month either.
