The new Audi Q2 compact SUV, revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in the Spring, will cost from £20,230 when it goes on sale in the UK in August.
Audi continued with its plan to fill every niche and sector with another instalment of its Q Series of SUVs with the arrival of the compact Audi Q2 at the Geneva Motor Show in March, which will cost from £20,230 to £30,610 when it goes on sale in the UK in August. The starting price gets you in to a Q2 SE with 16″ alloys, MMI Infotainment screen, Audi’s Smartphone interface which supports CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and heated electric mirrors.
Step up from the Q2 SE to the Q2 Sport (an extra £1,550) and you get 17″ alloys, Audi Drive Select, Cruise, auto lights and wipers, Sports Seats, Sat Nav, red or yellow interior inlays and bumpers either in body colour or Manhattan Grey.
The range topping Audi Q2 S Line (an extra £2,250 over the Sport) comes with a body kit, 18″ alloys, LED headlights and tail lights, LED interior lighting, brushed aluminium inlays, cloth and leather upholstery and multi-function steering wheel.
Engine choices for the Q2 initially in the UK are just a 1.6 TDI with 115PS and a 1.4 TFSI with 150PS.
Interestingly, neither the TDI or TFSI will be available for Audi’s headline starting price of £20,230 (the cheapest petrol is the 1.4 TFSI SE ate £22,380 and the cheapest Diesel the 1.6 TDI SE at 22,480), as that falls to the 1.0 litre TFSI, which won’t be available until later in 2016, along with a 150PS 2.0 TDI.
The lesser versions of the Q2 will come with a six-speed manual with posher ones getting a seven-speed dual-clutch auto, and at some point 2017 you’ll also have the option of the 2.0 TFSI with quattro 4WD, and be able to spec the 150PS petrol and diesel with quattro too.
Audi say you’ll be able to place an order for the new Q2 from August with first customer cars due in November.
