New Bentley Bentayga Speed
The new Bentley Bentayga Speed is revealed, adding go faster bits and a few more horses to claim to be the world’s fastest SUV.
Bentley has decided it’s time for a new Bentayga to sit at the top of their SUV range, above the regular W12 and V8 versions (and the diesel, if it wasn’t already defunct) and make the claim to be the world’s fastest SUV in the process.
That fastest SUV in the world title did belong to the Lamborghini Urus, but it seems Bentley has managed to get their behemoth of an SUV to 190mph – 0.5mph faster than the Lamborghini. Expect revenge from Sant’Agata shortly.
Th tweaking of the W12 in the Bentley Bentayga Speed also improves its 0-62mph dash to 3.9 seconds (the Urus is quicker), and Bentley say they’ve improved response in Sport Mode to make the Bentayga Speed more responsive, with the suspension a bit firmer and the gearbox a bit quicker. Oh, and the exhaust is a bit louder.
Cosmetic titivations – apart from the Orange paint job on the launch car – include 22″ alloys, bigger tailgate spoiler, black grille, smoky lights and ‘Speed’ badges, with the interior getting a dose of Alcantara and ‘swooshes’ of colour more ‘Speed’ badges.
Bentley hasn’t said how much the Bentayga Speed costs, but it’s likely to be at least £20k more than the regular W12 Bentayga.
