2020 Bentley Flying Spur tease
Bentley starts the tease for the new Continental Flying Spur, which will be a saloon take on the new Continental GT complete with motorised ‘Flying B’.
The Bentley Flying Spur may seem a bit like the poor man’s version of the Mulsanne, or a saloon take on the Continental GT, but it’s always been a very good car in it’s own right. And now it’s about to get better.
Bentley has started a tease campaign for the new Flying Spur, expected to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the autumn, if not before, complete with all that’s been made better in the latest Conti.
But however good the new Flying Spur will be, and judging by the new Continental GT it should be very good, the most talked-about bit is going to be the motorised ‘Flying B’ mascot on the bonnet.
Yes, Bentley has decided it’s time to poach BMW’s Rolls-Royce party trick by motorising its Flying B bonnet mascot so it rises majestically from its bed in the bonnet (as you can see in the video below).
Away from the party tricks, expect the new Flying Spur to start out life with Bentley’s lovely W12 under the bonnet, before extending the range with a plug-in hybrid and V8 version for the more parsimonious minded Bentley buyers, and probably a Speed version too at some point too.
Expect a tease or three more for the new Flying Spur before we get a reveal.
