New Ford Focus gets a Black & White Video tease
The new Ford Focus will be revealed on 10 April 2018, ahead of which Ford is trying to raise anticipation with a new black and white tease video.
Ford are hpping that their new Focus – which will be revealed on 10 April – will propel the Focus back in to the competitive fray alongside the VW Golf, and it looks to be taking chunks of influence from the Fiesta in the process.Ahead of an official reveal next week, Ford has delivered a new tease video (below) to give us a bit of a moody look at some of what the new Focus will offer, although it’s actually giving little away.
We actually saw the new Ford Focus undisguised in February when it was caught on a photo shoot in Portugal, so we already have a pretty good idea what to expect, although the new video does give us a bit more detail.
We can see new headlights with a graphic not dissimilar to Volvo’s Thor Hammer running lights, new tail lights and front grille which look to us rather like the Fiesta, and you can probably expect the new Focus to have an interior heavily influenced by the Fiesta too.
Under the bonnet we’re likely to see a hybrid model arrive (although perhaps not at launch), with an emphasis on small capacity petrol, although we can’t see Ford being brave enough to give up on diesel options.
What we are hoping is that Ford can inject the regular new Focus with a bit of the appealing dynamics and fun to drive feel the Focus was once renowned for, but it is said Ford are aiming the new Focus more at European tastes than trying to make it a ‘One Ford’ for all markets, so fingers crossed on that.
As for details, we’ll have to wait until the new Focus arrives next week.
