New Ford Focus RS hooned and thrashed by Ken Block (video)

With the new Ford Focus RS finally revealed, Ford has released a video of ace hooner Ken Block taking the Focus RS by the scruff of the neck at a Ford Plant.

The new Ford Focus RS has finally been revealed, and what better way to show what it’s really like than to give it to Ken Block?

That’s what Ford thought, so they gave the keys to Ken and let him loose to play at the Ford Plant in Cologne, and the results should quell any disquiet that the new RS is going to be less of a hooligan than the last RS.

Good though the new RS looks, it’s less extreme than the last RS, with Ford cutting costs by sticking to the five-door hatch body, and welcome though four-wheel-drive is for traction and grip, it could have made the new RS less exciting to blat around.

The promise, though, is that the new 2.3 litre from the new Mustang with 316bhp, coupled to the new 4WD powertrain, could make the new RS a stellar performer. And if the video of Ken Block’s antics are anything to go by that looks to be the case.

Despite the huge grip the 4WD powertrain doubtless offers, Ken manages to drift the new RS at will, and even manages to cock a wheel as he presses on. The new RS is clearly not a sanitised, safe option. It looks a proper hooligan.

For which we’re grateful.
