New Lexus RC Coupe gets its own Michelin-starred dish
Lexus has enlisted chef Andreas Møller from the Michelin-starred Copenhagen restaurant in Paris to create a dish which evokes the new Lexus RC Coupe.
The Lexus RC Coupe is a car we like a lot; it’s a car with multiple layers of ability and design which pleases the more time you spend with it. But how do you get that message across to buyers intent on buying a BMW 4 Series or Mercedes C-Class Coupe?Lexus’s idea is to enlist the help of chef Andreas Møller from the Michelin-starred Copenhagen restaurant in Paris to create a dish to celebrate the new, LC-inspired, RC Coupe, and which also encompasses the ethos behind Lexus’s Takumi craftsmanship and Japanese Omotenashi hospitality. Piece of cake (well, not actually a piece of cake).
Sensibly, Lexus let Chef Møller loose in an RC Coupe throughout the summer to get his inspiration, and he spent time to discover the joys of the RC’s design, its hybrid powertrain and decent handling over 3,000 summer driving miles. As we discovered, the more you drive the RC, the more appealing it becomes.
Of course, asking a chef from a Michelin-starred restaurant to create a multi-layered dish to celebrate a car was never going to deliver a simple creation, and Chef Møller has created a dish which is certainly multi-layered and offering everything from the substance of oak-smoked mackerel to the fluff of candy floss.
In the mix is everything from pickled mustard to currants, and nasturtiums to lemon caviar. Simple it’s not, but it’s a good attempt at delivering a dish which encompasses the RC’s multi-layered qualities.
If you’re off to the Paris Motor Show, you can sample Chef Møller’s creation on the Lexus stand, promoting the new Lexus hashtag of #SharpYetSmooth.
