New Mercedes GLA teased on video

Ahead of its debut next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Mercedes GLA – the A-Class SUV – is being teased on video by MB TV.

It was only last week we revealed that the latest iteration of the new Mercedes A-Class – the Mercedes GLA Compact SUV – would be making its debut at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show in production guise. And now Mercedes are starting the tease.

They kicked of late yesterday with a sketch of the new GLA, but as we’ve already seen the concept at Geneva, and designers sketches are not exactly the most reliable interpretation of the reality, we didn’t see much point in republishing them (you can see them on Mercedes Facebook page).

But now Mercedes has gone one better than a designer sketch or two, with a teaser video showing the real production GLA out strutting its stuff.

The video is carefully edited to make sure you don’t see the whole of the GLA at any time, but there are enough shots to realise there are some differences – such as the lower grill at the front, rear lights, side sills – even if the basic design remains the same as the concept.

At this rate, we probably won’t have to wait until Frankfurt arrives for the full reveal of the new Mercedes GLA.
